A Woman Empowered

Mercy Kitsoo is 28 years-old and married with four children. She wanted to help support her family but with little education and few skills, there were scant opportunities to pull herself and her family out of poverty.

And then she heard about Haller’s vocational training for tailors in Nguuni. She joined, qualified as a tailor then formed – and now chairs – the Florida Women Self Help Group.

“Haller was kind to us and donated a sewing machine which we use to make school uniforms that we sell. We are also able to repair clothes for village members.”
