Survival and Beyond

Rain falls often upon the Nguu Tatu Hills near Mombasa. It washes away the topsoil and leaves the land damaged.

In the case of Carissa, a local farmer, it wiped out everything. And when droughts starved the land, he would lose everything again. Thanks to the training he received from Haller his land is now more robust than ever. It has survived the rains. It has survived the drought.

“Since the training we have been making terraces and the maize is growing well now. I think that with what we have been learning we can really improve our lives. Next year will be even better.”
