Milgis Trust

In 2014, Haller partnered with the Milgis Trust, an organisation mostly working in northern Kenya which strives to conserve the wildlife, habitat and pastoral people's way of life.

Haller’s educational tool, the Repro Ruler, is a 30cm ruler used to help school children understand and track their own menstrual cycle, whilst empowering them to plan their families. They have three coloured sections: red (bleeding days), yellow (fertile days) and blue (infertile/safe days). Where women and girls are illiterate or would not ordinarily use a ruler, Haller distributes the colour-beaded 'Repro Bracelets'.

The Milgis Trust helped Haller to train approximately 5,000 tribesmen, women and adolescent girls in Samburu in Kenya to make the Repro bracelets, providing them with an income.

This partnership has enabled Haller’s family planning programme to become far more wide-reaching. 5,600 people are already in possession of either the Repro Ruler or the Repro Bracelet, which are distributed alongside educational workshops on family planning and HIV-Aids prevention.
