Haller is taking part in the pre-COP26!

We are looking forward to taking part in this year's pre-COP26 event facilitated by the FAO, happening on the 30th September. The event will be focused on: Creating a resilient livelihood for youth in small-scale food production. We are one of 8 case studies showcasing proactive solutions to support youth in creating and maintaining stable livelihoods. Small-scale food producers are among the poorest and most marginalised in the world, whilst being on the front line of dealing with the impacts of climate change. The event aims to highlight the importance of youth in small-scale food production, showcasing how young people can contribute to climate-resilience in agriculture.

We will be discussing our Youth Farming Programme and the Haller Farmers App. Looking at the role they play in both play in re-engaging the next generation of farmers in Kenya and in how they help to build community resilience in an ever changing climate.  The pre-COP is the preparatory meeting held one month before the COP26 taking place in Glasgow. The Conference will be attended by around 40-50 countries, representatives of the UNFCCC Secretariat, the chairs of the Subsidiary Bodies of the Convention and a number of stakeholders from civil society who play a key role in the fight against climate change or in the transition to sustainable development.

The event is taking place on the 30th September at 13:00 - 15:00 BST. To find out more about the event click here. To register your interest to watch click here * Update - if anyone missed the event you can watch the live recording here.
