Partnering with Haller: Why White Label? 

At Haller we embrace partnerships as a vital part of scaling our impact, synergising efforts to bring about transformative change globally through regenerative agriculture. Our initial aim is to use our established network of partners across Africa and beyond to expand our support to more communities and ecosystems. Delivering the knowledge, tools and infrastructure required for high quality, meaningful, and long-lasting community driven initiatives.  

Throughout our over two decades of engagement in East Africa, our team has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in sustainable development: what works, what doesn’t, and the approach needed to drive impact. 

To ensure enduring and expanding influence, and transcend geographical boundaries, our work has centred on codifying these approaches and principles into replicable frameworks that can be used by partners worldwide. 

White labelling is most commonly used in reference to mass produced generic goods, including electronics and consumer products. These are items produced by a manufacturer that other companies then rebrand to make it appear as though they made them. 

But white labelling can serve another purpose. At Haller, we see technology as one of the pillars to drive change across the developing world. We’ve spent the last decade developing and improving the award-winning Haller Farmers App in an ever changing technological landscape. Building features and content tailored to meet the needs of smallholder farmers in East Africa, distilling our teams’ agricultural knowledge into an accessible and useful resource. 

Through white labelling, the technology underpinning the app’s functions can be adopted by other charities around the world, but the information contained on the app can be adapted to reflect the needs of smallholder farmers in that region. The principle of technology driving regenerative agriculture remains the same, but the specific techniques incorporate local knowledge and expertise. 

Every community and organisation is unique, and the white labelling approach is dynamic and tailored to evolving needs, circumstances and environments. All app content can be customised as needed with enriched content, graphics and pictures, while maintaining the wireframe and design to keep costs low and protect the user experience. 

Partners can leapfrog initial hurdles and fast track their digital initiatives without needing to build from the ground up. The app can be used to teach techniques across agriculture, healthcare and wellbeing, enabling partners to have a greater impact on the ground. 

The Haller Farmers App has already been white labelled in Romania by Fundatia ADEPT. In 2022, ADEPT used Haller’s framework and technology to create a sister app tailored to an Eastern European audience of smallholder farmers. The process underscored the global potential of the Haller Farmers App, and encouraged our team to look for new partnership avenues.
